When it comes to therapy, one size does not fit all. Each person is unique and responds differently to a variety of psychotherapy techniques. From my earliest training, my foundation has been a blend of approaches. Along the way I have been trained in and utilize several techniques such as Family Systems Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and Families, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Collaborative Divorce Coaching. My goal is to offer the right approach for each person.
Throughout life, people have times when they struggle with anxiety and depression. Whether that is a one-time, short term event or a lifelong challenge, psychotherapy can be beneficial. My broad experience in a variety of fields enables me to help adults face diverse issues including life stressors such as illness, break-ups and loss, death and dying, sexuality and identity issues, and interpersonal relationships.
Couples and families face various hurdles throughout the life cycle. I have worked with dating couples and couples who have been together for decades, parents of young children and adolescents as well as empty nesters, divorced and divorcing couples and post divorce blended families. My clients include couples who face all the ordinary challenges of relationships and some couples who face additional challenges, such as inter-racial, inter-faith and same sex couples and their families.
As a Family Therapist, my work with adult siblings and adult children and their parents has helped families sort through troubled relationships. It is a joy to see couples and families come together, sometimes after a lifetime of difficulty, and connect in ways they never believed possible.
Throughout my career I have supervised professionals at both public and non-profit agencies, graduate and post-graduate students from the major metropolitan area Graduate Schools of Social Work, and therapists in their own practice. I currently offer clinical supervision to therapists in private practice or working at agencies.
